Steering Committee on Investigation into the Dismissal of Former Director of Education Calls for Special Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the Steering Committee on the Independent Investigation into the Dismissal of the Former Director of Education is calling for a Special Assembly to release the Executive Summary and Recommendations.

The Investigation into the Dismissal was commissioned by the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke. It was guided and overseen by an appointed Steering Committee consisting of Marlyn Kane, Patsy Bordeau and Shirley Meloche. The independent firm Cooperative Solutions was responsible for conducting the investigation in accordance with the June 18th, 2012 �Terms of Reference.�

The former Director of Education, the Kahnawake Combined Schools Ad Hoc Committee responsible for the evaluation of the former Director of Education, and select MCK Chiefs responsible for education have completed their review of the final report. The Executive Summary and Recommendations are now ready for release to the parents and community.

The Steering Committee is calling for a Special Assembly for Tuesday, November 12th, 2013, at 7pm at the Golden Age Club. The Special Assembly will include a presentation of the Executive Summary and Recommendations to the parents and community.
