Lands Unit

Kahnawá:ke land is so important to Kahnawakehró:non and its land issues are complex. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke Lands Unit through its Directorate provides services in six main areas:

• Land Management Department
• Environment Protection Department
• Landfill Department
• Tioweró:ton Department
• Policy Development Department

The Lands Unit provides services for:

• Land Allotments
• Land Transfers
• Recycling and Garbage pick-up services
• Landfill requests
• Negotiating access roads for landlocked property.
• Land policy development
