Eastend Waterlooping Phase 1 begins

The Technical Services Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa�kehr�n:non that the Eastend Waterlooping Phase 1 project is underway and will continue to the end of November 2010.

The Capital Construction Crews will be installing a 12 inch water main from Matty�s Park to the SLS-13 Residential Development (Clay Mountains). The water main will allow for looping of the water network and will enhance the demand for emergencies and fire fighting. (See map below)

Throughout the installation, residents in the area may be inconvenienced with temporary loss of water, dust and noise from trucks and equipment, detours and temporary road closures. Residents will be notified at least one day prior to having the water turned off and proper road signalization will be installed to warn of the construction limits. The community will also be notified when a road closure is scheduled.
