Fair Wage Agreement correction

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community of a correction to the notice published on 24, Kentenhk�:wa/ November regarding the 2010/2011 Fair Wage and Conditions Agreement signed by the MCK and the Mohawk Bridge Consortium.

The Agreement sets the wages, benefits and safe working conditions �for works on bridge structures, bridge components and approachways in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnaw�:ke,� specifically those works on the Mercier Bridge.

It was signed on Monday, 22 Kentenhk�:wa/November by Chief Rhonda Kirby (on behalf of the MCK) and Wayne Rice, Sterling Deer and Peter Morris (on behalf of the Mohawk Bridge Consortium, the contractors on the Mercier Bridge repair project).

The Agreement is in effect from May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2011 (not April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 as originally indicated). All increases in wages, pension or vacation pay shall be retroactive to September 26, 2010.
