Water & Sewer Operators take top honors

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to congratulate the Water & Sewer department of the Public Works Unit for winning two prestigious awards for the southwest region of Quebec at the recent Native Operators Conference held in Kahnaw�:ke on May 31st.
 
The Water Treatment Plant won the award for Best Record Keeping while the Sewage Treatment Plant took honors for Best Waste Water Sampling over a 12 month period.

Water Operators include Terry Stacey, Raymond Cross, Susan Jacobs and Brian Stacey. Sewage Plant Operators include Thomas Armstrong and Harold Cross.



The annual competition is held each year in May with awards going to the top water and sewer operators in the region given by the Department of Aboriginal Affairs. This year 24 Native communities took part.
