St.Lawrence Seaway Corporation Vegetation Management Program

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) has been informed by the St.Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC), that as part of its Ecological Control of Vegetation Program, will spray a herbicide product around the emergency docks in Kahnaw�:ke on Wednesday, June 15th.

The spraying will be carried out to control the poison ivy that grows around the emergency docks. In the past, SLSMC personnel have been affected by the poison ivy when carrying out maintenance work on the docks.

The herbicide, Adios Ambros, is 99.8% Sodium Chloride (salt) based and has been deemed to be a reduced risk product and safe for humans, animals, waterways and vegetation by Health Canada.
