Bus service schedule for final days of school

06/16/2011

The Transportation Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke would like to announce the schedule for the final days of the school year and how it relates to busing.

Based on the yesterdays experiences with the Mercier Bridge traffic reconfiguration, all buses that drop off and pick up in the city now have to return to Kahnaw:ke via the Champlain Bridge or through Valleyfield for morning trips. This means that buses will arrive back to the station about 45 minutes to an hour later than usual in the morning and 30 to 45 minutes later in the afternoon.

Parents of students are asked to inform the bus dispatcher if they plan to pick up their son or daughter on their own. This will avoid wasted trips and time for the bus driver and other students.

The final days of school are as follows:

Friday June 17: All Kahnaw:ke schools, Centennial, Queen of Angels, Vanguard, Selwyn House, St. Georges Elementary and High School, ECS and Sacred Heart.

Tuesday June 21: Trafalgar and Lakeside Academy.

Wednesday June 22: Kells Academy.

Thursday June 23: Kuper and Howard S. Billings (Billings is not affected by the bridge traffic).

Any further information can be obtained by calling Bus Dispatcher Kenny Cross or Dinah McComber at 450-632-5825.
