Upcoming works for East End Water Looping

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform all Kahnawa�kehr�:non of upcoming works for the East End Water Looping Project on Route 132.

Following the clearing of trees in recent weeks along the north side of the highway between Delaronde Garage and Kahnaw�:ke Survival School (KSS), Capital crews will now proceed with the next phases, which will commence on Friday August 19th and it will include:

�Install a water valve at the KSS entrance.
�Remove the topsoil from the work area, which will be returned after the work is completed (approximately three days� work).
�Install nine thousand feet of twelve inch water main. This work is expected to last until December.

Proper road signalization will be installed to warn of the construction limits.

The new waterline is necessary to ensure adequate fire protection for the Survival School and will also act as a secondary water supply to the Mohawk Trail / Lot 106 area and infrastructure for future economic development.
