Special Community Meeting on land-based gaming issue

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to remind the community that a special Community Meeting on the land-based gaming issue will be taking place tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at the Golden Age Club.

The agenda consists of a presentation, to be followed by a question and answer session.

The MCK announced earlier this month that Phase 2 of the project has been launched.

�The first phase of study, which was done in-house, indicated that a casino-type project would be most feasible and profitable to meet our goals,� said Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr.  �It�s essential that any decisions that are made in the future are based on professional market studies, as well as financial and social impact studies.  That�s what we�re doing next.�

A budget of $115,000 has been set aside from the MCK�s Operational Reserve to conduct the studies and for other costs related to the project.

The meeting starts at 7pm.
