Be cautious of telephone marketers

The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers would like to remind Kahnawa�kehr�:non to be cautious when dealing with telephone marketers.

Marketing companies will mass contact every home when selling products and have recently have been offering misleading information to ensure a sale. The latest reported claims to represent Hydro-Quebec and is selling a device that will reduce the amount of electricity wasted in your home. Although the device may work, Hydro-Quebec has confirmed they have no involvement with the company.

Telephone marketers are trained to sell products and will use any strategy to complete a sale. Community members are urged to be cautious when dealing with these marketing companies. If you suspect that it may be fraudulent in nature, please do not hesitate to report them to the Peacekeepers by calling 450-632-6505.
