Casino Project referendum date announced

Electoral Officer Michael Sky has officially announced the date for the Casino Project Referendum. Referendum Day will be Saturday, April 28, 2012 with voting to take place between the hours of 9am to 6pm at Kateri School.  A special poll (advance poll) will be held one week prior on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm, also at Kateri School.
 
The referendum question is as follows - Do you approve the development of a community-owned casino that would be regulated by the Kahnaw�:ke Gaming Commission?

Eligible voters must meet the requirements of the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law, be listed as a member on the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry and be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of Referendum Day.  To participate in the special poll, eligible voters must also submit a written request, with satisfactory reasons, to the Electoral Officer within forty-eight (48) hours of the time of the special poll.
