First draft of Justice Act is completed

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) is proud to announce that the first draft of the Kahnaw�:ke Justice Act has been completed and will soon be available for public viewing on the www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com website.
The document was formally accepted at a short ceremony held late yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at the Court of Kahnaw�:ke. It was approved unanimously by the members of the Justice working group; community representatives Chris Bush, Jeremiah Johnson, Kenneth Diabo and Richard Nolan; and the participating members of the KLCC Chiefs Advisory Group (Mike Bush, Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer, Martin Leborgne and Clinton Phillips).
The document will now be sent to the MCK�s Legal Services to ensure proper formatting.
In accordance with the Community Decision Making Process, preparations will begin immediately to organize a Community Hearing at which time the draft will be formally presented to Kahnawa�kehr�:non for further discussion. No date has yet been set.
The mandate to create the draft was given by the community at a duly convened Community Hearing held on 3, Enn�ska-February 2010.
