Kahnaw:keTV now available on Youtube

06/06/2012

The Communications Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke is pleased to announce that Kahnaw:keTV (KTV) is now available for viewing online at the popular video sharing website, Youtube. The page can be accessed by typing kahnawaketv in the Youtube search bar or by visiting kahnawaketv.com.

Since 2001, KTV has been aired on Pauls Cable and only became available online in 2007 through kahnawake.com. The existing video online version is very limited to audiences. Viewers must have certain programs or plugins in order to view.

Ever-advancing technology on the Internet creates a need for KTV to change the way it is broadcast. Youtube provides this service, allowing video streaming to be more accessible for different types of audiences. KTV will be aired via Youtube on a three (3) month trial basis.

We want our items to be accessible to everyone and out quickly, stated Director of Communications, Neil McComber. Youtube allows us to reach more people who watch videos with laptops, iPods, tablets and cell phones, anywhere, anytime.

KTV segments are launched on the Youtube page as they are completed.

Episodes of KTV still air every day, with new show content every Friday on Mohawk TV Channel 4 for those who prefer watching it on TV.
