Chiefs in Ottawa to review Kahnawake/Canada Relations process

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that Chiefs Lloyd Phillips and Clinton Phillips will be attending a meeting on the Kahnaw�:ke/Canada Relations (K/CR) process in Gatineau, Quebec today (Tuesday, 6 Kentenhk�:wa/November).

The Chiefs will meet with Canada�s representatives for the six month review of the process. They will evaluate what is working and what changes need to be made to improve the process.
 
The K/CR Framework was signed this past February in Kahnaw�:ke by Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr. and Canada�s Minister for Aboriginal Affairs John Duncan. The Framework is the working document which outlines the renewed relationship and responsibilities. It deals specifically with Kahnaw�:ke Membership and Kahnaw�:ke Lands.

The Chiefs will return to the office on Wednesday.
