Membership information sessions set to begin - date set for first Hearing

The Membership Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke�s Social Development Unit wishes to invite community members to attend one of a series of information sessions being organized to review summary information on the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law, the reviews of the law and the key issues.

The first session is scheduled for this evening (Tuesday).

The information sessions are part of a campaign to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non on the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law before it goes to the community for review and possible amendment on 24, Tsothohrk�:wa/January 2013.

The Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law information sessions will be held at the Kahnawake Shakotiia�takehnhas Community Services building on the following dates and times:

1.    Tuesday, November 20              6pm to 7:30pm
2.    Wednesday, November 21        12 noon to 1:30pm
3.    Thursday, November 22             6pm to 7:30pm   
4.    Tuesday, November 27              12 noon to 1:30pm

Additionally, a video presentation is being prepared to highlight the need for the Membership Law to be reviewed by the community and to amend the law. Once completed, it will be available for viewing on KTV, YouTube and DVD, though no official date has been announced at this time.
