Grand Chief - Marois meeting deemed positive

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that yesterday�s meeting between Grand Chief  Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr. and Quebec Premiere Pauline Marois, along with other members of Premiere′s staff, has been deemed very positive by the Grand Chief.

�Madame Marois is very committed to the continuation of the relationship that was started with the Parti Quebecois in the 1990�s, which culminated with the Ten Agreements,� said Chief Delisle. �That relationship also included, and will continue to include, the current files of the Seigneury of Sault St. Louis, Highway 30 lands and Kahnaw�:ke�s presence in the regional economy.�

Yesterday�s was the first face-to-face meeting between Kahnaw�:ke and the new Quebec government.

The meeting was held at the Premiere�s office in Quebec City.
