Sports Complex Alcohol Survey Results

The Sports & Recreation Unit SRU) of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is pleased to present the community with the results of the Survey to gauge public opinion on the sale of alcoholic beverages at the Kahnawake Sports Complex. The survey was conducted this past January, in person, at the Sports Complex and Services Complex, and online at www.kahnawake.com. Over 500 people participated (open PDF and click on link to view results).
 
"The Sports & Recreation Unit has been approached by individuals, promoters and team managers requesting alcohol sales for certain events," said Mackenzie Whyte, SRU General Manager. "We brought the topic of these requests to the Council Chiefs, and they advised us to gauge the public. That′s what we did, and we presented the results to them today, which they accepted."

The issue will be brought forward for further discussion and possible decision at an upcoming Council meeting, which should be finalized shortly.
