Fuel Tank removals

The Public Works Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that work will begin on Monday, May 13th for the removal of underground fuel tanks at three locations in Kahnaw�:ke. As the tanks are located at different locations, the works will take place independently and are expected to be completed over a three week period of time.

Petro Hi Tech, a company that specializes in this type of work, has been contracted to properly and safely remove the outdated underground fuel tanks following federal regulations at the Kahnawake Fire Brigade, Kahnawake Youth Center and Lands Unit buildings.

Enviro Services Ltd. will conduct soil inspections at the removal sites. The Kahnaw�:ke Environment Protection Office is aware of these works and has reviewed the processes to be used.
