Weekend Closure scheduled for Mercier Bridge

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform road-users that the Jacques Cartier & Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) have roadwork planned on the Mercier Bridge this weekend. Beginning tonight (Friday) at 9pm until Monday, July 8th at 5am, one lane of the Montr�al-bound bridge will be closed.

Motorists wishing to access the bridge from Route 132 (La Prairie) will be detoured to the Route 138 up-ramp (Chateauguay) using the service lane under the bridge that connects the two Routes. Exit ramps from the bridge will not be affected during the weekend and all Kahnaw�:ke-bound lanes will be opened for the entire weekend.

Also note that the Minist�re des Transports du Qu�bec will take advantage of this closure to carry out work on the same span towards Montreal.

As previously announced, night closures (8pm to 5am) will continue next week to prepare for a major month-long Work BLITZ which will take place from July 13th to August 11th.

This Blitz will have very significant impact on traffic and all road-users are encouraged to opt for alternate links to the island of Montreal, such as the Champlain and Victoria Bridges or the new AutoRoute 30 for those heading west. Other suggestions include a different means of transportation such as carpooling or public transit (bus and train),

The MCK wishes to remind the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
