Legislative Coordinating Commission announces dates for upcoming legislation

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) announced today that dates have been set for the following legislative events, all of which will use the Community Decision Making Process:

1.    Community Consultations for proposed amendments to the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, 22 Kent�nha/October.
2.    Proposed legislation to counter Canada�s S-2 (�Matrimonial Real Interests�) will move forward with Community Consultation on 5, Kentenhk�:wa/November.
3.    As the 30-day review Period for the draft amendments to the Kahnaw�:ke Elections Law has ended, Community Consultations will resume on 19, Kentenhk�:wa/November.

Each meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evenings.

As has been the norm for the past several months, the meetings will be held from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Karonhian�nhnha School gymnasium. Details on the agenda and specific subject matters will be distributed to the community in a timely manner.
