MCK receives Report of Independent Investigation into dismissal of former Director of Education

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that it has received the Final Report of the Independent Investigation into the dismissal of Kahnaw�:ke�s former Director of Education.

The report was compiled by an independent team of investigators and commissioned by the MCK, in accordance with the June 18th, 2012 Terms of Reference. In mid-March of this year a Steering Committee was established to guide and oversee the investigation.

The former Director of Education, the Adhoc Committee responsible for the oversight of the former Director and select MCK Chiefs responsible for education shall be provided with the opportunity to review the report first. Following this, the Steering Committee will call for a Special Assembly to report on the investigation and release an Executive Summary of the report to the parents and community.

Please note that only the Executive Summary and recommendations will be made public, in accordance with the agreement signed by the former Director of Education and the Kahnawake Combined Schools Committee.

Parents and community members will be informed regarding the scheduling of the Special Assembly and other relevant information in the very near future.
