Fatal Incident Under Investigation

The Kahnaw�:ke Peacekeepers are investigating an early morning incident that resulted in the death of a local 19 year old woman. The incident occurred this morning at approximately 02:03, when the woman fell from the Mercier Bridge.

�This unfortunate incident is being treated as an accident,� said Peacekeeper Chief Dwayne Zacharie. � Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,� added Zacharie.

The Peacekeepers contacted the Community Protection Unit and a site assessment of the area was conducted. CPU will submit a report on their findings.
