Housing Department accepting applications for vacant single person rental unit

The Housing Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) is currently accepting applications for the rental of one vacant Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation Section 95 Social Housing Unit designed to accommodate a single person.
Persons interested in applying must fit the following criteria:
- Registered on the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry
- Single adult � male or female at least 21 years of age
- Income is low or fixed
- Not currently own a house
- Experiencing challenges that have resulted in the inability to access private rental housing in the community
- Willing to work with MCK Housing in the development of a case management plan
- Willing to submit to a security background check
- Willing to pay a rent established by the MCK Social Development Unit Committee
A completed application form must be submitted to the MCK Housing Department no later than Thursday, September 25, 2014 at noon.
