MCK Department of Occupational Safety and Health issues clarification

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke�s Department of Occupational Safety & Health (KDOSH) wishes to inform the community that it has been made aware of an advertisement in today�s edition of the Eastern Door that needs immediate clarification.

The advertisement for �Pete�s Pest Management� states that the company is approved and certified in part by �Health and Safety Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke.�

KDOSH wishes to clarify that it does not certify or approve anything. What KDOSH does, among other duties, is perform inspections to verify compliance with safety and health regulations.

In regards to the company, KDOSH Coordinator Louis Stacey personally performed an inspection and determined that the owner of the company was, at the time of the inspection, in compliance with the regulations and standards pertaining to the products he uses. This does not, and should not, imply that KDOSH offers approval and certification services in such matters.
