U.S. Consul General meets with Grand Chief and Tewatohnhi�saktha reps

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that Grand Chief Michael Ahr�hron Delisle, Jr. met with United States Consul General Nina Maria Fite at Tewatohnhi�saktha yesterday in Kahnaw�:ke.

The meeting was held at the Consul General�s request to discuss Kahnaw�:ke�s economic development plans, as well as other political and social issues.

John Bud Morris and Kyle Delisle of Tewatohnhi�saktha also participated in the ninety minute meeting.

�The Consul General wants to know whether she or the consulate can help in any way,� said Grand Chief Delisle. �It was a very interesting meeting. The fact that it was held at her request is very encouraging. We�ve committed to continue our dialogue in areas of concern that we raised.�
