Mercier Bridge evening closures this week

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated that that one lane on the Montreal-bound side of the Mercier Bridge will be closed during the evenings from Tuesday, November 3rd until Thursday, November 6th between 9pm and 5am.

During the closures, the Montreal-bound Route 132 up ramp from La Prairie will be completely closed. Motorists will be detoured to the 138 up ramp from Chateauguay.

The closure is necessary to disassemble work platforms that were mounted under the bridge and on the steel structure.

The work was originally scheduled to begin Monday evening, but was cancelled due to the 138 milling and resurfacing project. which is closing the Montreal-bound Route 138 up-ramp this evening.

The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
