Reminder - Mercier Bridge Montreal-bound complete closure tonight

11/20/2014

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to remind road-users that the Ministère des Transport du Quebec will completely close both Montreal-bound lanes of the Mercier Bridge to traffic from 10pm tonight (Thursday, November 20th) until 5am Friday, November 21st.

The closure is necessary due to the reconstruction of the Monette overpass on the LaSalle side of the bridge. Road users are encouraged to use the Champlain or Jacques Cartier Bridges to gain access to the island of Montreal.

Both Kahnawà:ke-bound lanes will remain open.

Please note that once the complete closure is complete, the left lane of the Montreal-bound bridge will be narrowed to 3.15 metres in the work area of the Monette overpass until the reconstruction is completed. Trucks are prohibited from using the left lane on the Montreal-bound bridge.

The MCK reminds the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
