Rent to Equity Open House February 9 and 10

The Housing Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is pleased to announce an open house for a home available through the Rent to Equity program on Monday, February 9th and Tuesday, February 10th.

Interested community members and those who have already applied can visit the home from 10am to 3pm and during the evening from 6pm until 9pm. The model home for the open house is located in the New Development (South Texas) area next to the ice skating rink.

Staff will be on location with information about the program (how to apply, eligibility, cost) and with details of the construction.

The program provides a three-bedroom rental unit to lower-to middle income Kahnawa�kehr�:non families who find it difficult to attain a down payment on a mortgage loan. The MCK will assist by matching 50% of the participant′s additional contribution (over and above rent) towards a down payment on a future home while renting a unit.

Applications are currently being accepted and will be available until 4pm on Monday, February 23rd.
