Mercier Bridge evening closures this week

05/26/2015

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke (MCK) wishes to inform road users that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and Ministre des Transports du Qubec have scheduled lane and ramp closures for the Mercier Bridge during the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 26th-28th inclusively, on the following schedule:

Tuesday (tonight) and Wednesday from 9pm to 5am: one lane available in each direction (counterflow). The Montreal-bound Route 138 up-ramp (from Chateauguay) will be closed at 7pm with a detour via Route 132.

Thursday from 11pm to 5am: No lanes available toward Montreal. Only one Kahnaw:ke-bound lane available from 10pm to 5am. Note: Work on the Monette overpass and the area of the U-turn on the Lasalle side of the Montreal-bound Mercier Bridge will not allow for counterflow traffic for Thursday night only.

Additionally, a weekend closure will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction, with a closure of Montreal-bound Route 138 up-ramp (from Chateauguay) and a detour via Route 132. Schedule to be confirmed later this week.

The MCK reminds the public that these inspection works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
