Chiefs attending AFNQL meetings in Odanak

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Chief Clinton Phillips will be attending the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador (AFNQL) Special Chiefs� Assembly being held in Odanak on Wednesday and Thursday, 18 and 19 Kentenhk�:wa/November.

Agenda items include Political Relations with the Federal and Provincials Governments; Justice Initiatives; Taxation Issues; Matrimonial Real Property; and the AFNQL Regional Chief Election. Other updates and issues will also be discussed.

Additionally, Chief Martin Leborgne is attending a Housing conference being held at the same location today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday).
