Special Chiefs presentation of Residency Videos now on Cable

01/15/2016

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke (MCK)  wishes to advise the community that a new video presentation featuring Membership Portfolio Chiefs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Arlene Jacobs is now being broadcast as part of Kan:takon Community Programmings (KCP) Community Day on Pauls Cable. In the video the Chiefs introduce, explain and discuss the series of Residency information videos that were introduced on a weekly basis throughout the Fall of 2015.

Weve had lots of reaction to the Residency video snapshots, said Chief Sky-Deer. We felt that it was a good idea to tie the whole series together by explaining the rationale for its creation and by filling in some of the gaps in the information since the videos are just brief vignettes.

With Hearings on the proposed amendments to the Kahnaw:ke Membership Law resuming on January 26th, this is a good time to provide important information on why Kahnaw:ke finds itself in the unique situation it is in today, she added. This is our history and we make better decisions when we are able to learn from it.

The new presentation features all eight of the Residency videos. It is being broadcast on Community Day, which runs Tuesdays and Fridays on KCP Channels 35 (analogue), 300 (digital) and 399 (high definition).
