Changes announced in agenda for upcoming Membership Law Hearing

The Kahnaw�:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community of revisions to the agenda for the upcoming Hearing on proposed amendments to the Kahnaw�:ke Membership Law, which is scheduled for this coming Tuesday.

The changes were requested by the proponent of the proposed amendments (the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) Membership Department, along with the MCK Membership Portfolio Chiefs). The proponents feel that all discussion revolving around �Approved Kahnaw�:ke Residents� would be more appropriately addressed in the Community Decision Making Process for a residency law � which has already been proposed. A more in-depth explanation of the reasoning for the changes will be offered at the beginning of the meeting.

The revised agenda is as follows:

• Sec. 16, Entitlements of the Kanien�keh�:ka of Kahnaw�:ke
• Sec. 18, Responsibilities of Kanien�keh�:ka of Kahnaw�:ke
• Sec. 20.1, Kanien�keh�:ka of Kahnaw�:ke Pledge and Oath of Respect
• Any relevant/related Definitions
