Consultation Meeting on Human Remains Repatriation to be held tomorrow (Thursday)

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to remind the public that a Community Consultation will be held tomorrow (Thursday) evening to discuss and provide input on the topic of prehistoric remains found at archaeological sites.

The meeting will take place at the home of Iets�nhaienhs Christine Zachary-Deom from 5pm to 7pm. Refreshments will be provided.

�There have been occasions when remains have been found at various construction sites or archaeological digs,� said Iets�nhaienhs Zachary-Deom earlier. �We wish to meet with interested community members to hear their thoughts and answer their questions. The ultimate goal is to ensure that respectful processes are always followed and that proper repatriation and burials continue to take place in these circumstances.�
