Christmas tree pickup Thursday January 12th

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that a door to door Christmas Tree Pickup service will take place on Thursday, January 12th.

Trees should be free of decorations and placed curbside by 7am. It would be appreciated if the trees were placed outside that day to avoid the possibility of them freezing into the ice and snow. 

Alternatively, trees can be placed in the wood bin at the Transfer Depot throughout the month of January for those wishing to drop off their tree directly. The Transfer Depot hours are from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

While regular trees and brush are chipped and left on site to compost, Christmas trees are sent to Melimax where they will be chipped then sent to Lac Magantic to be processed into particle board.
