Grand Chief attending 38th AFN Annual General Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton will be attending the 38th Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assembly being held in Regina, Saskatchewan from Tuesday, July 25th to Thursday, July 27th.

The agenda includes such topics as:

• UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
• Descheneaux � Bill S-3 (Citizenship)
• First Nations Labor Market
• National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls
• Federal Law and Policy Review (Land, Rights, and Title)
• Environment & Climate Change.

Monday, July 24th and Friday, July 28th are travelling days. The Grand Chief is expected back in the office on Monday, July 31st.
