Call for Tioweroton Committee Community Representative

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to inform the community that it is seeking a member to sit as a Community Representative on the Tiower�:ton Committee.

Interested applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
�    be eighteen (18) years of age;
�    be on the Kahnawake Kanien�keh�ka Registry;
�    possess interest and knowledge of the Tiower�:ton Territory; and
�    attend monthly and seasonal Tiower�:ton Community Meetings.

�The recent resignation of the Kahnaw�:ke Community Representative resulted in a vacancy for the remaining two year term, which ends in November of 2019,� stated Tiower�:ton Coordinator Tara McComber.

Interested community members must submit a letter of intent to the Tiower�:ton Coordinator outlining their desire to participate on the Committee. Letters must be submitted by 4 pm on Friday, October 6th.

A vote for the potential candidate will take place at the Kahnaw�:ke Services Complex from 9 am to 2 pm on Thursday, October 12th.

Additionally, a reminder that the Tiower�:ton Community Meeting Picnic is scheduled for this Saturday, September 23rd from 11 am to 2 pm at the second bridge in Tiower�:ton. Food is free of charge. Please bring a chair.
