Peacekeepers looking for eight new officers

The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers are looking for eight (8) new officers. The notice for applications was issued earlier today for the indeterminate (permanent) full-time positions with a twelve (12) month probationary period.

�We have come to a time when many of the officers who started together back in the 1990�s � and, in some cases, a little earlier � are reaching retirement age,� said Chief Peacekeeper Dwayne Zacharie. �In the past three years, we�ve had seven Peacekeepers retire, with more scheduled soon.�

�We�re working towards expanding services to meet the needs of our community, so this is a good time for new people to get in on the ground floor,� he concluded.
