AFNQL to meet with Federal Ministers, Iets�nhaienhs Sky-Deer to attend

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that Iets�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer will be attending the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador Special Chiefs� Assembly taking place from today until Friday in Ottawa.

The agenda will feature meetings with several Federal leaders, including Justice Minister Judy Wilson-Raybould; Minister of Indigenous Affairs & Northern Development Carolyn Bennett; Minister of Indigenous Services Jane Philpott; Minister of Families, Children & Social Development Jean-Yves Duclos; and Minister of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale. 

Member of Parliament Rom�o Saganash will be present on Thursday evening and Friday morning to discuss the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Other Agenda items include a meeting of Elected Women; a summit on sexual assaults; and a denunciation of police conduct.
