MCK Housing Rent to Equity program accepting applications

The Housing Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) is now accepting applicants for the Rent to Equity Housing Program. The program allows participants to rent a home while saving for a mortgage down payment for future homeownership.
 
The program is intended for lower-to-middle income Kahnawa�kehr�:non who might otherwise find it impossible to make the necessary down payment on a mortgage loan. The MCK will match up to 50% of the participant savings contribution towards a down payment.
 
Eligibility Criteria:

• All applicants must be listed as a member on the Kahnaw�:ke Kanien�keh�:ka Registry.
• Must not already own a house or have ever owned a house.
• 21 years of age
• Employed full time for a minimum period of three (3) years.
• No outstanding debts to MCK or other organization
• Good credit history
