Zachary-Deom and Grand Chief to meet with Montreal Mayor and Indigenous Commissioner today

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Iets�nhaienhs Christine Zachary-Deom will be in Montreal this afternoon to meet with Mayor Valerie Plante and Commissioner of Indigenous Affairs Marie-Eve Bordeleau.

The meeting was requested by the mayor. The agenda consists of the following:

• Contribution of Kahnaw�:ke to the City�s reconciliation strategy and the Nation to Nation relationship
• Economic development
• Heritage, including Toponymy (the name change of Amherst Street), and the composition of a committee on Archaeology
