MCK Releases Statement on Today�s Actions

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that the organization strongly supports the actions taken by the Kahnawake Peacekeepers earlier today. The Peacekeepers led a multi-jurisdictional police operation this morning aimed at dismantling an international criminal organization dealing in illicit drugs and money laundering.

Several Kahnawa�kehr�:non were arrested.

�The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke fully supports this Peacekeeper-led initiative,� said Grand Chief Mike Ahr�hrhon Delisle Jr. �We are pleased that it appears to have been very successful and, additionally, took place without incident or injury.

The Grand Chief went on to say, �We do not - and will not - support such illegal activity within the Territory. Anyone who chooses to take part in such activities should take warning.�
