Total Fire Ban in Effect Tioweroton and Kahnawake

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Public Safety Unit, in collaboration with the Kahnawake Fire Brigade wishes to inform the community that a fire ban is in effect within the territory, including Tiower�:ton.

The possibility of a forest fire is currently rated at extreme across Quebec and open fires in Kahnaw�:ke and Tiower�:ton is banned as a safety precaution.

�With the dry weather conditions there has been a ban right across the province,� said Fire Chief David Scott. �It�s prudent that we act accordingly to avoid any potential losses.�
