MCK has no deal with Triwin

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to clarify misinformation circulating in the community regarding Triwin Holding Limited, Inc. (Triwin).

First and foremost, there is no partnership. Discussions with Triwin to date have been nothing more than preliminary research into a proposed partnership Triwin wishes to enter with the MCK in the area of e-commerce.

The fact is, each year several businesses propose numerous types of opportunities to the MCK for community investment/partnerships, and very few make it past the preliminary stage.

The MCK doesn′t normally issue press releases whenever a business brings forth an idea (or during a preliminary research phase) but community members were questioning this one after misinformation began to circulate regarding a letter sent from Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton to Triwin in 2017. This prompted the need to clarify that this is just preliminary research and nothing more.

Should this proposal go beyond the research phase, the Community will be notified and more information put forth. Until such time, all information regarding this proposal is premature.
