New Council signs Declaration of Office, and Privacy & Respect Agreement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform Kahnawa�kehr�:non that Chief & Council have signed off on two documents as they begin the new 2018-2021 term of office.

The Declaration of Office was passed unanimously at Wednesday�s (July 11) duly-convened Council meeting via a Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Executive Directive. The document is a Declaration to perform all duties required of Ratits�nhaienhs, bearing in mind that the primary duty is to serve the community, and to be answerable and accountable to Kahnawa�kehr�:non, fellow Ratits�nhaienhs, and the MCK as an institution.

Additionally, all twelve members of Council signed the Privacy & Respect Agreement, which deals with matters of confidentiality.

Finally, the new Council reviewed their Declarations of Business Interests signed previous to the Election and witnessed by a Commissioner of Oaths. All were deemed to be in order and were accepted into the record.
