MCK hires independent consultant to assist in Housing Review

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that it has hired a forensic chartered accountant to participate in the Housing Review process to analyze the findings to date and assist in further assessment.

The chartered accountant is a specialist in the area of uncovering misappropriation of funds and brings 15 years of experience and expertise working with various governments, agencies, and police forces.

The professional review/report is expected to be completed by the end of August and subsequently presented to Chief and Council. This will be followed by an update to the community.

Additionally, work to review and improve financial controls for the entire MCK organization is underway.
