Akwesasne hosting Iroquois Caucus meetings

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Kenits�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Gina Deer are attending the Iroquois Caucus meetings taking place in Akwesasne today and tomorrow (Thursday).

Agenda items include updates from the Radioactive Waste working group; Iroquois Caucus Free Trade implementation; follow-up from the recent Citizenship Summit; and the proposed Taxation Summit to be held in Akwesasne.

Please note that Grand Chief Norton will participate in today�s meetings only; he will be in Gatineau, Quebec tomorrow to attend the Kahnaw�:ke/Canada Relations meeting.

The Iroquois Caucus consists of elected Councils from Akwesasne, Kahnaw�:ke, Kanehsatake, Tyendinaga, Wahta, Six Nations, and the Oneidas of the Thames.
