2018 Organics Curbside Collection

The Kahnaw�:ke Waste Management Department is pleased to announce that an Organics Curbside Collection service will take place on the same day as your regular recycling pickup during the weeks of November 5th � 8th and November 19th � 22nd. New this year, Halloween pumpkins and hay bales will also be collected.

Community members are asked to ensure that only clean leaves (devoid of sticks, garbage, and animal droppings) are placed in Paper Bags only, and placed curbside by 7 am. Plastic bags or bags that have contents other than leaves contaminate the finished compost material.

This service is offered as an alternative to throwing fallen leaves, pumpkins and hay bales into the garbage. Collected Organics will be composted at the Transfer Depot rather than wasted in a landfill.
