Freezing Rain Warning in effect for this evening

The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for Kahnaw�:ke and the surrounding area.

Freezing rain should begin late this evening over southwestern Quebec and will spread toward central regions tonight. 10 to 20 millimeters of freezing precipitation is forecast over this area. The freezing rain will eventually change to rain on Friday, which could cause significant rainfall amounts.

Travel is not recommended. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and extremely hazardous.
