Iets�nhaienhs Sky-Deer makes S-3 presentation to Six Nations Chief and Council

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that Iets�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is in Toronto to make a presentation regarding the S-3 amendments to the Indian Act to the Six Nations Chief & Council.

As mentioned in several earlier releases, the S-3 amendments could see an additional 35,000 to 65,000 persons added to the Kahnaw�:ke federal registry, which currently stands at approximately 6,500.

Iets�nhaienhs Sky-Deer, who is the lead on the Membership file, has recently made presentations on this issue to the community and the Iroquois Caucus. She was requested by Six Nations to make a formal presentation to their entire Chief & Council, who are in Toronto for strategic planning meetings.

She will return to the office tomorrow (Thursday).
