Grand Chief attending 40th AFN Annual General Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton is attending the 40th Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assembly being held in Fredericton, New Brunswick from Tuesday, July 23rd to Thursday, July 25th.

The agenda includes such topics as:

  • Languages Bill C-91
  • Housing, Water and Emergency Management
  • Environment, Climate Change
  • Child Welfare � Bill C-92
  • Federal Legislation/ Implementation & Impacts (Bill C-262�Bill C-97)
  • MMIWG Final Report
The Grand Chief will travel home on Friday, July 26th and is expected back in the office on Monday, July 29th.
